If you own any luxury bridal, formal, semi formal or prêt ready-to-wear piece from any of the Pakistani brands listed in the designers section or if you have a vintage garment that is more than 20 years old then we can help you sell it.

Before we can sell your pre-owned item you should be aware that we will only request brands shown in the designers section and we will request proof of purchase either by email or in hard copy format that should be from the brand only and we will not accept  pre-owned items ordered from third parties. Once your item proof of purchase has been verified and it is pristine condition then we can offer a Standard and Premium service to sell your pre-owned item. The pre-owned platform will include both Women’s Wear and Men’s Wear.

Pre-owned Categories

chambeili Pre-owned product types come in 3 types:

chambeili Pre-owned Never Worn is an item that has been purchased in the past but not worn at all and has all the original packaging, pricing and garment tags intact. The item will also be void of any perfume smell, stains or odours.

chambeili Pre-owned Worn is an item that has been worn one or more times but is is pristine condition void of any damages, faults, stains or odours.

chambeili Pre-owned Vintage is an item that is more than 20 years old and can be either a ready-made-garment or un-stitched fabric. The origins of the fabric can be from Pakistan, India, Persia, Turkey or Europe.

Pre-owned Discount Band & Pricing

We want to ensure that the seller is provided with a realistic selling price that can be achieved whilst at the same time they can earn money from their luxury garment sale. Sellers with Never Worn garments can achieve to sell their items for 40% – 50% off the original purchase price minus our commission. For Worn garments, sellers can achieve to sell their items for 50%-70% off the original purchase price they paid minus our commission. For Vintage items we will need to evaluate the item in more detail and pricing can be more favourable if the item is extremely rare and of very high quality.

Selling Conditions

To maintain our inspiring selection of pre-owned fashion items, we apply a set of criteria that include:

  • An item’s condition, wear & tear of fabric and any stains or damage;
  • The brand should be in the list of designers we recommend, the style and quality of fabric, embroidery and hand/machine embellishments;
  • Popular lines according to market demand;
  • Realistic selling price;
  • With the exception of vintage articles, the outfit cannot be more than (5 years old).

Our selling criteria may vary depending on the seasons, styles and trends. That’s why our guidelines may change over time.

Rejected Items

Here are some possible reasons:

  • Your item’s brand does not meet our pre-owned designer list pre-requisites;
  • Your item’s quality is not up to the standards required for our pre-owned platform;
  • Your item’s design and style are outdated and does not meet our client market or current trends;
  • Similar items have been on sale for a long time on our site without finding a buyer;
  • The price you are wanting for your item is not achievable in the current economic climate;
  • We do not accept your item as being genuine as it has failed our authentication checks.

If your outfit has not been accepted by chambeili Pre-owned to resell on your behalf, our team will contact you by email to advise you within 48 hours of receiving your email. We will give you the reason why your outfit has been rejected on this occasion. Don’t let that stop you from selling with us in the future.

Selling Process

If your bridal, formal, semi-formal or pret wear was purchased directly through chambeili Bridal as a bespoke made-to-order then you can jump to Step 7 as long as you can provide a copy of the order sheet and invoice with a set of images to show that it is in pristine condition. We will otherwise only accept pre-owned garments that have been ordered directly from our preferred list of designers and not through any third party affiliate.

Step 1. Make contact

Contact chambeili Pre-owned by email at: preowned@chambeili.com with details of your item, purchase price, size (measurements if bespoke), condition, designer, date and original cost of outfit. You will have to state if the outfit is new/worn/with/without tags.

Step 2. Establish Selling & Reserve Price

We will formulate a realistic asking price bearing in mind that your garment is pre-owned and in order to successfully sell your product our platform selling guide price is to offer up to 70% off the original purchase price; however we may offer a better price depending on the quality of the item, whether it is worn, unworn or vintage and the brand designer.

 

We will provide a realistic selling price potential and put a final reserve price if we cannot sell at your required asking price. We will make recommendations on pricing if your garment is approved to ensure that our client base is willing to pay the price.

Step 3. Garment Description

Provide a brief description of your outfit including fabric used, embroidery and embellishment details, style of the garment and occasion, whether it is a bespoke item or  part of a collection from the designer then provide the collection name and product name.

Step 4. Garment Photos

We will require a minimum of 5 high resolution photos of the garment taken on a plain background clearly showing the full outfit including: dupatta, gharara/shahrara, lengha, choli or saree with blouse and inner. For Premium option we will take closeup pictures of your garment with video as well to provide more closeup details to entice customers.

Step 5. Pre-Verification

We will review the description, pictures and price of every item before we accept to sell it instore and online. We will require proof of purchase or original purchase order details from the designer directly and we will not accept purchases from any third party. If you ordered your dress online, we will accept the email confirmation of your order from the designer. We will take into account the style/price/market demand/quality and condition of your item. If we are happy to proceed you need to go to the next step of physical authentication.

Step 6. Authentication

Once we are happy with pre-verification checks you will be required to dispatch your item to our store or alternatively you can bring it in order to undertake physical authentication checks on the authenticity of the item, the quality of workmanship, stitching quality, any damages and general overall condition. The authentication process is going to be paramount especially if you are selling expensive bridal and formal wear.

This step may take up to 48 hours. We will notify you if your item has been approved or rejected.

Step 7. Garment Preparedness

Once your garment has been verified and authenticated and you are ready to sell on our platform then you will be required to have item professionally dry cleaned so it is free from all odours or stains. If there are any minor defects we can have them repaired in-house at an additional cost.

Step 8. Garment Listing Fees

If your outfit has been approved by chambeili Pre-owned team, we will contact you to ask you pay the listing fee via PayPal and sign and send the Sellers Pre-owned Terms and Conditions form.

Step 9. Garment Dispatch

Send or arrange to bring your outfit to our store address via special delivery with insurance or drop off. For international customers you can dispatch via FedEX or DHL.

Step 10. Garment Tag Identifier

After the outfit has been prepared and displayed in store it will be labelled clearly as Pre-owned Worn, Pre-owned Never Worn and Pre-owned Vintage.

Step 11. Garment Interest Updates

We will send you regular updates on the progress of your garment every 2 weeks. We will let you know how much interest we have received and any feedback or comments.

Step 12. Garment Offers

We will contact you if we receive an offer on your garment. We will only sell it once if the customer agrees to the selling price or final reserve price.

Step 13. Maximum Racking Period

We will keep your garment on the racks in store for maximum 5 months and each month your item will be reduced by a certain percentage in accordance with the Seller Terms and Conditions and if it is not sold within the 5 month time frame we will request you collect it in-store or have it shipped back to your address where you will need to pay for the shipping. We will however keep the garment online just in case someone does wish to buy it. Alternatively, we will give you an option to place your garment into our Auction room and let customers place bids whereby you can reduce the asking price lower to improve the chances of selling your garment. 

Charges & Commissions

Once your garment has been verified as an original and has met our selling guidelines, the customer will be required to have the item(s) professionally dry cleaned and provide high quality images and a brief on your garment, the designer and any information on the customisation and features, date of purchase, purchase price and UK size (if bespoke then you will need to provide exact measurements when you placed the order).

In order for you to sell your item using the standard and premium service, the charges and commission will be as follows:

Listing & Racking Charges

In order for you to sell your item using the standard and premium service, you will be required to pay an upfront charge. We have listed what we will offer per service below**. All third party platforms such as Amazon and Ebay charge for listing fees but they charge additional charges for paid ads to get your listing achieve higher ranking (promoted listing ad rate start from 1% or more of the item’s sale price on a 30 day cycle and you will be charged each time your ad is clicked). Our listing fees are a flat one-off fee and on standard listing we offer social media marketing of your item and in the premium listing we will pay for target audience specific adverts based on a wide range of factors including age, demographics, net worth, fashion interests etc. By leveraging on our social media platforms (we have over 50k+ combined followers) will increase your chances of selling your item quicker with the added advantage that you can physically view and try the garment instore.

**The above charges do not include any cost of repair to your outfit. If you would like chambeili Pre-owned team to fix any repairs, you will be required to contact us by email: preowned@chambeili.com and clearly state what repairs you require with a clear photo of the fault or repair. We will email you with the cost of repair. We will charge upfront for this service.

Pre-owned Selling Pricing Structure & Commission

We will charge commission when your outfit has been sold. Our commission will be calculated according to the price of your item and will represent 20% – 25% of the selling price maximum. The Pre-owned Selling Price is based on 50-70% off the original purchase price if your item is Worn and 40-50% off the original purchase price if your item is Worn. For Vintage we will only provide the Pre-owned Selling Price on inspection. We will deduct commission from the Pre-owned Selling Price which will be your Pre-owned Receiving Price.

In order to sell a high end couture luxury garment from a Pakistani designer requires a high degree of expertise and sales experience and with over 7 years of bespoke customer designer bridal, formal, semi formal and party wear and selling off-the-rack we are one of the leading experts in the UK who has the right client base to attract customers to purchase pre-owned. 99% of all customers will want to see the garment in person which is why we also provide the racking in-store with try-out facility so you can make a more better and informed decision on your pre-owned purchase and if you require any tailoring or upcycling then we have in-house expertise to get this done.

Auction

We will hold an instore and online auction for any listed item that has not sold in 5 months. Customers will be notified in advance of they wish to have their garments placed into auction and a reserve price will be finalised before the auction day proceeds.

Cancellation

If you have a change of heart and want to cancel the sale, please contact our sales team by email at preowned@chambeili.com. We will remove the item from the shop floor and online listing with immediate effect.

You will be required to collect the item from store within 14 days of cancellation or pay for shipping the item back to your home address by FedEX, DHL or Royal Mail Signed for Special Delivery. We do not charge a cancellation fee; however the listing and racking fee for either services are non-refundable without exception.

Payout

Once your garment has been sold, we will deduct the relevant commission as per the commission structure above and arrange to have the funds transferred in to your Bank account or your PayPal account within 3-5 business days from the date the item was sold. You will also receive an invoice with your agreed selling price and our deducted commission charges.
